Welcome!
Each child deserves unconditional love, support, encouragement, education, experiences, guidance, and motivation. I keep my ratio 6:1 to make sure each child is receiving what they deserve at the highest quality.
A few things you can expect your child will experience at Mama G's...
Majority of our day is spent outside. Preparing children for school readiness includes providing opportunities to take risks, challenging themselves, discovering, exploring, imagining, and building self-confidence. Along with academics, this can all accomplished by spending many hours outdoors.
*Hands on activities in the preschool setting such as: ABC recognition and sounds, colors, counting, number recognition and representation, shapes, patterns, days of the week, months of the year, weather, seasons, sequencing, syllables, songs, dancing, classroom jobs, show and tell, fine motor skill practice, learning how put on socks-shoes-jackets, recognizing his/her name, learning to spell and write his/her name, making mathematical connections, phonological awareness, sounding out words, penmanship, craft, problem solving skills, field trips, and learning to describe items. As much as I believe the basic 123's, ABC's, colors, etc. are important to learn at a young age, I also believe it is extremely important to expose children to real-life education such as life cycles, habitats, different parts of the world and their cultures, gardening, good hygiene, manners, etc. I also believe in learning alongside the children, meaning I listen and observe their play to learn what they are interested in learning about.
*Hands on activities in the play time setting such as: side walk chalk, play-doh, board games, and crayons, etc.
*Activities available in the make believe setting such as: barbies, cars, dinosaurs, dress up, legos, and many more
