ILLNESS AND MEDICATION
If your child is sick, please make other arrangements until his/her symptoms are GONE. The revolving door of sickness is not fun! I know it is hard to take time off from work, but please be respectful of the other children's health and their families.
The following symptoms indicate a child needs to stay home.
Your child will be sent home if symptoms appear.
Temperature of 100 degrees or higher AND sore throat
rash
vomiting (Please do not bring your child to preschool/childcare if he/she has vomited within 24 hours of arriving in the morning. Your child is not welcome return to preschool/childcare until at least 24 hours after last vomit.
*If your child vomits during the night, they need to stay home that day!*)
diarrhea
ear ache
Heavy green nasal discharge
Constant cough
Very fussy or lethargic
Eye discharge
Rashes
Lice
If your child needs to receive medication, please give me written directions. This way you will feel comfortable the medication has been given as you requested. Make sure your child’s medication is labeled clearly. I will not give your child any medication, including pain relievers, without your written permission and directions. Along with written permission and directions, all medications (except pain relievers) need to be in a bottle prescribed by a doctor, including inhalers.
In case of an accident, I will make every effort to reach a parent, or your emergency contact person. If in my judgment the child needs emergency medical care I will call the paramedics. In medical emergencies, parents will be responsible for all expenses.
